Baseline collects almost nothing. No accounts. No advertising. No data sold. Your workout data stays on your device. We use privacy-first anonymous analytics (TelemetryDeck) that cannot identify you.
Baseline is a consumer health app developed and published by Baseline ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the limited data our app handles.
Baseline is designed to function with minimal data. We do not require accounts, email addresses, names, or any personal identifiers to use the app.
| Data | Stored where | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Session history and progress | On your device only | Display your block grid, track weekly progress, calibrate future sessions |
| Exercise calibration memory | On your device only | Adjust session difficulty over time based on your feedback |
| App preferences | On your device only | Store your anchor thought, focus region, settings |
| iCloud Key-Value Store backup | Your iCloud account | Restore your progress if you reinstall or change devices |
| Apple Health data (optional) | Apple Health on your device | Read recent workouts to adapt session recommendations; write Baseline workouts and mindful minutes |
| Subscription status | Apple (via App Store) | Verify your subscription to unlock full access |
| Anonymous usage signals | TelemetryDeck (EU servers) | Understand how the app is used in aggregate (e.g. onboarding completion, session starts). Cannot identify individual users. |
None of the following are collected, stored, or transmitted by Baseline:
Names, email addresses, or any personal identifiers · Location data · Device identifiers or fingerprints · Crash reports · Advertising identifiers · Browsing or search history · Demographic information · Biometric data · Financial information (payments are handled entirely by Apple).
If you grant permission, Baseline reads workout data from Apple Health to understand your recent training activity. This allows the system to adapt — for example, offering a lighter mobility session if you've already trained hard today.
Baseline may also write workout sessions and mindful minutes to Apple Health so they appear in your Activity rings and health records.
Your HealthKit data is never transmitted off your device, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or marketing purposes. This is enforced by Apple's HealthKit guidelines, which Baseline follows strictly. HealthKit access is entirely optional and the app functions fully without it.
Baseline uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store to back up your progress data. This allows you to restore your block history and calibration if you reinstall the app or switch to a new device. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted by Apple, and is not accessible to us.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process payments, store credit card information, or have access to your billing details. Apple provides us with a transaction receipt that confirms whether you have an active subscription. We do not receive your name, email, or Apple ID from this process.
Baseline uses one third-party service: TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics platform. TelemetryDeck receives anonymous usage signals (for example, when a session is started or onboarding is completed). It is designed to be incapable of identifying individual users — signals are hashed and aggregated before storage. No personal data, device identifiers, or IP addresses are stored. Data is processed on servers in the European Union. You can read TelemetryDeck's privacy policy at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
All other external services are Apple's own infrastructure: the App Store for subscriptions, iCloud for backup, and HealthKit for health data — all governed by Apple's privacy policies and your own device settings.
Your data exists on your device for as long as the app is installed. If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. Your iCloud backup may persist in your iCloud account until you manually remove it or stop using iCloud. We have no ability to access, retrieve, or delete your data remotely because we do not have it.
Baseline is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our website, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Because Baseline does not collect personal data through the app, most data protection rights (access, deletion, portability) are moot — there is nothing for us to produce or delete. Your workout data is yours, on your device, under your control.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, or any other jurisdiction with data protection laws, and you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example, from a support email), you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.
The Baseline website (baselinebody.app) does not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or any tracking technologies. If you provide your email address through the website to receive a launch notification, that email is stored separately from the app and used only for that purpose. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL. If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will note it prominently. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Questions about this policy can be sent to support@baselinebody.app.
